  • Rendered Audio file not the same ‘size’ as original

My cousin and I have been playing around with recording audio and a few sessions he trailed away from the mic too much and increasing the mp3 by the 12DB didn’t really cut it, so I re-rendered it after it was increased by 12DB so I could increase it more.

But if I place the new Mp3 file beside the old one, it’s 2 of the smallest unit of time (Not sure what to call them since it’s less than a second but there’s only 30 of them apparently). Shouldn’t a re-rendered audio file that’s only been edited in this way be the exact same size on the timeline?

I’m just concerned that this slight increase might cause sync issues or something.

If you mean the length of them is different, that
should not be, if you simply re-render a file. The
only visual difference you should see is the waveform
patterns (Waveform is those spikey graphics
in the middle of the audio file
    ), that is normal.

Not if it’s MP3. That’s a very lossy codec. You should be working with WAV files if you are worried about quality. You should also use Normalize to solve your volume problem instead of increasing the volume by 12dB.
