  • Render with optional alpha channel

    Hi!

A client wants me to render a clip (lossless .mov) with an alpha channel. The thing is that he wants to be able to separate the alpha and see what’s behind, if you understand.

Basically, he wants a 10 sec clip, where the first five seconds is transparent, but if you choose to ignore the alpha-channel you can see whats behind it.

I have my clip and an alpha layer that i set with the “set channel” effect. When I render it out I choose “straight”.

This almost work, when I import the rendered clip it works fine, but when i choose to ignore the alpha i only see about every 5th-10th pixel, the rest is all black.

Sorry if this is confusing, english isn’t my first language and I’m a bit stressed.
