Is there any way to render a new track of only the audio portion of a project.

I want to edit in external audio program, but if my original capture is long and I am only pulling out short clips, when I open the audio track in the external program, it pulls in the entire audio track of the original capture, even if I have cropped and snipped only brief portions for the project.

Sure, just render using an audio format (e.g. wav), or, if you want to stay with avi, uncheck ‘Include Video’ in the Video tab of custom settings.

Create a loop region of the part you want to edit and check the box for render loop in the render dialog box, you’ll probably want to save it as a wav file. Name that particular loop with it’s own name…loop001.wav etc. and repeat for any other parts you want to edit. Then you’ll have each section as a seperate audio file to pull into any audio editor.
