render to 720 60P?
Posted by Jason Yip on July 27, 2010 at 5:26 pmI’m working with some 720 60P footage. Is there a way to render 720 60P in Vegas Pro 9?

July 28, 2010 at 1:33 amYea, use the Sony AVC render type and change frame rate in the 720-30p template to 59.940 or even 60.000 if that’s what you want.

July 28, 2010 at 6:26 pmThanks for the reply John. I’m having trouble finding a 720 30p template under Sony AVC. When I go to the default template and change to 720, I don’t see any frame rate higher than 29.970. If you could point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

That’s the one to use. 30p is really 29.97 progressive but people get tired of saying twenty nine point nine seven so they just call is 30 for short. (also 60i is really 59.94i)

Type 59.94 in the Frame rate box.

July 29, 2010 at 5:14 pmThanks, I thought I was stuck to what was in the drop down menu and didn’t know you could enter in your own frame rates. Will this work with mpeg2 as well?

July 29, 2010 at 6:12 pmI’m not sure if all the frame rate drop-downs allow you to type in them but most should. Understand that not all codecs support all frame rates so you could type something in that the codec doesn’t support and you will get a render error.
