Once again bitting my nails during 4K MC – R E N D E R I N G – on an intense, densely packed timeline – watching the clock, praying . . . you know the drill jacked up against a hard deadline. Is it possible to speed up my rendering times by hacking my mid 2012 Mac Pro with 2 x 3.46 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon? Is it a stupid idea? Or any other way? I’m running MC 2018.12.15. My OS is Mojave 10.14.6 I’ve heard that the new Mac Pro doesn’t really make rendering much faster but is great for other apps, and that better software is actually the key. I’m not a techie, but I need to figure something out. Any suggestions on a smart move up to help speed rendering times without breaking the bank?

How long is this render taking? What source codecs? What export format? What drives? What GPU? A machine like this really isn’t very efficient with 4K content.

Were the 2012 Macs the ones that could be significantly upgraded?
