I have a 720 x 486 composition. When I render it, I make sure that the resolution is full and that the render size is the same as the comp. However, the result is stretched and rectangular images look like squares. Any ideas on what is wrong? I’ve never had this happen in the past. Thanks!!

If you use the D1 preset, render, then view in QT, it should look wrong. However, on a TV set, it will look right.

How are you playing back the file that looks wrong? In QT Player?

In QuickTime 7.1, hit Ctrl-J, go to the Presentation Tab and play with the “Conform Aperature to:” In typical fashion, they have all new and confusing terms for what is what.

See https://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303928 for a definition of each setting.

Keep in mind that this in no way affects the actual content of the movie, only the presentation of it on your square pixel computer display.

Thanks guys! yeah I’m playing it back in quicktime and it looks like it’s stretched wide, but the resulotion is the same as in AE. I rendered it in square pixels and it worked alright. It is going played on a projector for a presentation. I’ll try messing with the settings in quicktime and see how it looks. THANKS!
