  • render “skip frames” not just RAM preview?

    Posted by Bob Roberts on September 17, 2007 at 3:22 pm

    I’m trying to render every 4th frame of a comp. The effect I want is similar to selecting “skip frames” in RAM preview, but I actually want to output a Quicktime.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

    There was another post not far back (2-3 weeks?) with a render option, but to get every 4th frame you can also

    Layer>Enable Time Remapping and put this expression on Time Remapping (Copy the expression, Alt-click the Time Remapping Stopwatch and Paste):

    n = 4;
    n*time

    But

    Thanks for the note.

    I did a search for “skip frames” in the archives and nothing showed up. Alas, the expression should probably work.

    FYI, the footage I’m working with is suuuuuper slow motion and the light is giving a really harsh flicker. Thankfully the flicker is consistent so rendering every fourth frame seems to work. However, manually picking each frame out of the very long image sequences would have been not so fun 😉

    Found it, ’twas under “Stop motion”:

    The whole thread has several options. He was trying to make an image sequence.
