Render Settings for Youtube (sourece 720p 60fps)
Hi,
Could do with your help/advice please.

SHows an unaldutered gopro file upload shot on a GOPRO HD Hero (720p 60fps) on a raod bike (bicycle)
In VLC and WMP the orginal file looks pretty good, when the motorbike first passes you can see the registration plate number and details, make of motrobike on the side etc. Once uploaded all those details get blown to black (I relaise it’s a high contrast scene at the start but to reiterate my VLC/WMP on the PC (viewed on 2 different screens to test) and also popcorn hour media player linked to TV show the orginal video with detail intact)
After some reading up I opened Sony Vegas 12, dropped in the orginal file, matched the media, applied a computer – studio RGB filter, and exported as SONY AVC/MVC;
Profile=High,
entroby coding=cabac,
frame rate=59.94,
bit rate 16,000,000 (slightly more than the R3 bit rate)so I ended up with a m2ts/mp4 file and uploaded that.
Note: when I applied the filter in Vegas it looked fine – so nothing like it’s ended up like on you tube, the resultant uploaded file is:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuxuUT3XcQ0
it’s still way too dark, especially in comparison to VLC/WMP (and my popcorn hour player linked upto my tv)
I the tried:
GOPRO file into vegas
Apply computer-studio RGB Filter
Render file to PC Using ‘Main Concept Internet HD 720p’
Upload to youtubeThis solved the brightness issue but introduced noticeable blockiness to the file in VLC/WMP and Youtube.
I then used the ‘deblocking’ option which didn’t seem to help muchshort clip here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzlmjsIIZl4
1) Any advice on which setting template to change to improve things.
2) Whats the best way to apply WYSISWYG adjustments prior to upload to youtube (I guess what I’m asking is to visualise what it will look like on YT whilst working in Vegas, also how do you then visualise what it will look like on a computer in VLC/WMP whilst wowrking in Vegas)
2) The pixelation/blockiness that occurs – I guess thats becuase of the high amount of movement and the compression that YT uses?
3) any other pointers gratefully accepted
