render settings for keeping video as untouched as possible
I would like to stick with the FPS of the original clip and not have Sony mess with it. They are electronics reviews for YouTube. I don’t want cinematic motion blur, etc…
So I assume I click the ‘bypass motion blur’ at the head of the track. The footage is 1080p, so I assume I select none for interlacing… Any other tips?
What is ‘allow source to change frame rate’?
Also, the clips at the head and the end (opening and closing logo) are 30.003fps or something like that. I’m not concerned if they are a little off, but don’t want it to ruin the main video. I have selected 1080pNTSC in project settings.
Also, why is there no 1080pNTSC project setting? I selected 720p and updated the resolution. Is that okay?

No need to change any of those settings. Vegas Pro is smart enough to not use them if they are not needed.

Make sure that your project properties match your source media properties and that your render properties match your media properties. That’s the best thing you can do and what a lot of people get wrong.

I would go into the video properties on these non-standard fps events and Disable Resample so that Vegas doesn’t try to conform the frame rate.

That’s fine. The project settings are for the most popular combinations. It’s OK to make new ones that match your source media. Just be careful that you don’t make one that can’t be delivered (i.e., there is no delivery format for).

Ok excellent. What about this “allow source to change frame rate”. It seems like a strange setting. If I want it to just stay at what it came in as, should this be ticked or no? Regards…

That option allows the encoder to optimize the frame rate when encoding. If the source frame rate is greater than the template’s frame rate, the encoder will either use half of the source frame rate or the selected Frame rate setting (the lower value is used). When the check box is cleared, the selected Frame rate setting will be used. If your frame rates match there it no need to worry about this checkbox because Vegas Pro will ignore it.
