render selection
FCP refuses to render ONLY selection when I “command R” with item highlighted that I want to render. It renders (conforms, HDV) everything on the timeline and not JUST the test selection that I want to preview. Cockpit problem?

Most likely one of the selection items in Render Selection has been checked off. You might try trashing your prefs to reset everything.
