    Greetings,

I’m currently working on editing some titles into a ballet recital. I created the titles in After Effects and rendered them as QT files using the animation codec. I brought them into FCP and layed them over the breaks between performances i.e. performance ends, animation comes in to show title of next performance, next performance begins. It looks great on the time line but when I render the text in the title animation gets really fuzzy. I have tried rendering using DV/DVCPRO NTSC, Uncompressed NTSC, Recompress All frames checked and unchecked, Make movie self contained checked and unchecked, and anything else I could think of. I am stumped and of course, on a deadline. Thanks in advance.

    Dan

The most common explanation for this is that you cannot judge DV material on a progressive scan monitor such as your computer. You must view it on an interlaced video monitor or TV.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
