Sometimes I notice that my render is moving slower than it should. When I stop the current render, another unrendered comp appears below the comp I just stopped. It’s like it is rendering the comp twice or something. I have to delete both comps, then keep trying until the render time is what it should be. I hope I am explaining the problem clear enough.

For example, I know a movie should take about 20 minutes or less to render. If the est. time shows 40 minutes, I stop the render and immediately an unrendered comp appears in the render que. I delete both and try again. I have to do this several times until the movie renders at the right speed.

    Thanks

That is exactly what I am doing. I am making revisions to a movie so I know about how long it takes to render. I know that when I stop the render, the new render starts where the other one stopped. I want to know how I don’t get that new render not to show up. It is very annoying having to stop the render, delete the new render, start the render over again hoping it works right.

what i like to do is hightlight the last Queue that worked and hit CTRL+D so that it pops back in all duplicated and ready to go.

The whole process can take 5 minutes or so before I get a render that works properly. I have to set it up, start the render, wait to see if it is rendering properly. If it’s not, then I stop it, delete both comps in the que, revert, and start the render over again. That takes time.

That is a good idea about saving the render then reverting if it goes wrong, but it’s the multiple starts that takes the time.

I just want to know why this happens.

    Thanks

Ok, I get that now. But, I still have to wait and see if the movie will render correctly. If it doesn’t, I revert and try again. The number of times I do that will vary which takes more or less time. I am looking for the reason why it doesn’t work. I appreciate your help.
