    Will there be of any benfit to use render quality “best” if source is HDV?
    Render as MPEG2 or AVC.

    Yes… or at least I do tend to see a difference… in quality as well as render time.

    This quality slider question has come up quite a few times in the past and everything about it is as clear as mud. The one thing that is clear is that more calculations are made during a render while in the “best” position, and in certain scenes there does tend to be a positive difference when compared.

    i myself no longer experiment with it however… I just default all of my templates at “best” and leave it at that.
