  • Render project to stream or USB , how do you save chapter markers ?

    I have Pro Vegas 16.
I record video in HD with 2 Canon C100 cameras.
My projects are 35 minutes to 65 minutes.

I used to render my projects to DVD , DVD-A & had no problem.
But DVDs are old technology & I don’t want to use DVDs any more.

Now I want to render my videos & let people download & stream them.
Or they can download the files to a flash drive, insert flash drive into a blu ray player & play them off the flash drive.

My projects always have file markers. I’ve used file markers for years when I made DVDs. I want my projects to keep the markers so I can advance to the next marker when watching a file off a flash drive.

As a test, I rendered with format Sony AVC/MVC & couple other formats, copy my video files to USB, & watch them from USB.
The file markers are not there. I cannot advance to the next chapter.

Is there a HD file format that keeps chapter markers ?

    Thanks, Dave

Thanks for the suggestion. I downloaded Drax & followed the instructions.
I now have chapter access using the VLC player.

But when I copy the video file to a USB drive, plug the USB into my 4K player & play it on my TV, I don’t have chapter access. I press the next chapter on my 4K remote & it sends me back to the beginning.

Does Drax only work for the VLC player ?

David, I have no idea. You asked about chapter markers and this was the only info I could find on that topic. My suggestion is to ask your question on the thread I posted. It’s an older one but most of the posters are still active and should be able to help you. If you’re not on that forum it’s very easy to register. I hope you find the answer you’re looking for.
