Render problem…..deadline looming
I have a two minute project that I have altered and rendered completely a few times over the past week. Each time I’ve rendered, I’ve let it go overnight as it has taken about 7 hours to complete. This afternoon I made one small change and went to do a final render. It got to about the 1 minute mark on the timeline and just hung. I waited for about 10 minutes to ensure that it was indeed hung up and did a reboot and tried to render again. The estimated render time now appears to be around 90 hours!!! I have rebooted numerous times but with the same result.
None of the settings have changed although I did try changing the Open GL setting to Off and seeing if it made a difference. It did not. I opened a back-up file of the same project from a few days ago thinking that perhaps the main file got corrupted but had the same result.
If I open a different AE file that is more straight forward and without lots of effects, it seems to render fine, and at the same speed it always did. I looked at my temperatures on the CPU and Vid Card and all seems normal, although when rendering I don’t hear my fan like I used to. That being said, RAM preview works fine and I hear the fan.
What happened?
Each time when I’ve stopped the render I get a warning that “A frame failed to render while using Render Multiple frames Simultaneously. Allocating more memory to the background processes in Memory & Multiprocessing may fix this problem.”
I’ve always had it set to 20 gigs for AE and 4 for everything else. 3GB RAM allocation per background CPU.
