render problem with laptop?
Hello, I’ve finished editing my school event. the duration is about 2 hours long of video. I didnt really add anything to it, just the footage and some basic text for titling. I rendered it, only to find a HUGE render time of 5 hours and counting (I stop it when the clock hits 5). From what I read, this seems to be expected of vegas, but I’d like to ask, since I’ve used a laptop and not a pc, if I go ahead with this, will my laptop crash or cause a permanent damage?
My laptop is dual core, with 2.20 Ghz, 2.99 GB RAM and 256 MB NVidia GE Force. I dont plan on doing this multiple times. Hopefully I’ll just have to do it once or twice max, but I’m still worried it will crash or cause serious damage to my laptop, so anyone’s opinion would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I’ve had 24 hr. renders in the past so a 5 hr. render is nothing to worry about.
The worst that will happen is that the render will hit a glitch in the timeline and abort the render so keep your fingers crossed 🙂
