Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy Render problem

I am running FCP 5 on osx 10.3.9, G5 2.5DP. I updated a project from the older version of FCP (being 4.5) and am attempting to render the timeline. No luck. The clips showing the red “needs render” lines are not rendering. I am clueless.

I tried rendering every conceivable way, changing sequence settings, trashing the prefs file (several times), restarting the machine, and still the same thing. I even have another project that originated in version 5 that’s giving me the same issue.

    Why can’t it render?

    Any thoughts? Help!

    Thanks,
    Colin Williams

Select the clips and hit Option+R – see if that does it. Next you could go to the pull down menus in the render area and try all the options. Doing Render > “What needs to render” usually does it too.

    Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestion. But…no luck. I tried every render option there is. Nothing. It did render the ‘Full’ in the ‘render only’ drop-down menu but several clips still have the red line and will not render for some reason. When I select Command+R or Option+R it flashes the status bar as if it’s already rendered. But no change.

    Any other suggestions?

    Clueless. Still.

    Thanks,
