Is it possible to render frame numbers to previews somehow?

Also how do I abort a preview render, some of these can be very prolonged.

    Thanks Alan

[alan lacey] “Is it possible to render frame numbers to previews somehow?”

Check off Frame in the HUD settings and then set Render HUD in Render Settings/Options – or use Xpresso to send the frame number to a Text Spline (and obviously, put that in an Extrude or Loft).

Start another Preview (which will ask to stop the current one)

Frame numbers, yes with Xpresso. Wire a Time node’s ‘frame’ output to the ‘Text’ input of a text spline. Put this in an Extrude nurbs with zero ‘movement’ so that it’s caps only. Child that to your camera if your camera is moving. Probably also possible with the Heads-up Display.

To cancel a preview, hit make preview again, then hit cancel. Give ‘make preview’ a keystroke (it’s command-r for me) and make your life easier.
