I am getting some strange artifacting in my renders in what seems to be 2 different issues or “areas” of the render. The 1st is in the edges of the reflective “tubes”. AA was set to animation .. I think.. I will confirm that when I get home. The 2nd is a random Red or Blue pixel in different locations of the image on different frames. I’m rendering to 32bit OpenEXRs. I’m not sure what other settings/information I should give that might help to investigate these issues, so just let me know.
    Thanks so much in advance.

    Sincerely,
    Chris

The AA problem looks like you just need to increase your AA settings. As far as the other goes, I’ve heard that there are some “issues” with Open EXR rendering. If you can, I’d try rendering it to plain .hdr

Thanks a bunch Adam. Thats kind of a bummer to hear about EXRs, I get them from our 3D department at work all the time and they look great, no banding issues, nice smooth clean images. They use 3DSMax though. Do you think it could have something to do with the external drive Im rendering to? Some error checking issue possibly? About the AA, what would you suggest I change in my settings?

Thanks again for your help! Very much appreciated.

    Sincerely,
    -Chris

Honestly I can’t remember what the issues were with the EXR’s — just that there was some kind of unresolved problem with them. Could you maybe convert them to HDRs or 16 bit tiffs?

Your AA settings are already fairly high. I would put a compositing tag on the objects that are giving you problems. That way you can specify higher AA just for those objects. Maybe start at 2×4 and move up from there.
