    Hey Everyone,

I’ve got a 720 x 480 comp in After Effects that I’m trying to render out with the AVID DV codec…and it won’t render out correctly. The final render is a large file with one frame which is grey with colored dots (no movement).

My workflow to get around this has been to render to the Avid Meridien compressed and then transcode into AVID back down to DV25.

Has anyone had luck rendering to the Avid DV codec out of After Effects?

Also, does anyone know when I import that larger 720 x 486 (Meridien codec) into the AVID DV…does it crop or stretch those extra 6 pixels to get it to its native 720 x 480?

I’ll also post in the After Effects forum.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

I was under the impression that 720×480 was a cropped version of 720×486.

Have you tried the generic DV codec in After Effects? It will come in as a fast import just as the Avid codec will.
