    Hello!

I was trying to render a bunch of small dissolves in a project and a window popped up that said “Render Error: Insufficient Disk Space. Free up space with the Render Manager and retry? “. The hard drive on the computer does not have very much left but I have an external hard drive hooked up that is 1 TB and it has about 920 GB left. Can I move the render files onto the external hard drive or would final cut pro not know where I put them? What can I do? Thanks for the help!

Open your preferences and set your scratch disk and render files to the external drive.

I would then delete all of your render files off of your boot drive and then rerender FCP so all the files are now on your external.

    Make sense?
