I have exported from Premiere CS3 a footage of a actor speaking (originally recorded in a DV camera) in a blue background (avi format, best quality) and in AFX I applied the Keylight effect to ad an static background.
I rendered it as NTSC avi, lower field first, best quality as I always do with all my AFX footage.
When I import it in Premiere I notice a loose of quality, the face of the actor is somewhat blurred compared to the original captured in Premiere.
    What am I doing wrong?

As the client could not wait, I used the chroma key effect inside Premiere. It’s not as good as the chroma key effect in AFX but I got a good result, and the character footage didn’t loose quality.
The keying in AFX was ok, but when I rendered it and imported to Premiere, the subject was out of focus.

If you have access to Adobe Ultra, you can get a great key with DV 4.1.1 color space footage as it uses vector keying. Hope this helps, Danny Hays
