Is there any way to render a photoshop sequence with layers?
I want to run a photoshop action on all the frames in a clip, but require a mask layer. Since AFAIK photoshop actions can’t grab the mask from another file (in an automated way) I need to have the mask for each frame available in the same PSD file on a different layer.

The filmstrip format would also make this possible, but I can’t seem to find that in the output modules.

Not that I know of. This would be a great feature request [link], though.

Perhaps you can accomplish what you need with Photoshop Extended’s video layers [link]?

    Filmstrip has been deprecated.

Thanks. I did end up using photoshop’s video layers. I hadn’t realized you could import more than one of them into a document.
