    Hello CC,

I have created some graphics within AE to be rendered into PAL for a SD DVD. I use PAL widescreen upper fields and render apple prores 4444. However, I seem to be getting bad render quality and these black outlined borders and washed out look on the graphics. This is also visible within and FCPX and when viewed on a DVD. Example is shown below.

I’m wanting the quality to end up looking like this:

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    Hello Brandon,

Are you rendering your AE project from Media Encoder or directly within AE?

    Directly from AE.

I would suggest trying Media encoder and see if that helps with the washed out problem.
For the black outline issue, try precomposing the graphics in your comp and switching on the continuously rasterize layer switch.
