render in 8bit or YUV?
Hi all,
can someone explain the benefits or possible drawbacks of changing the default render in 8bit setting in the sequence settings tab to render in high precision YUV.
my sequence is PAL DV50 with a mix of DV50, DV25 and AE animations rendered to Prores 422
would i gain anything by moving to YUV rendering?

unless apple fixed it, you will be losing quality with that setting.
It doesn’t work the way its supposed to. Turning that on can cause visual glitches you won’t see if you stick to 8 or 10 bit for rendering.
Right now there is no advantage to the YUV render setting.
