Render hell
We are getting a conforming to Mpeg 2 render every time we render footage and it is adding sometimes hours to our render times. We are running new computers with 8 gigs of ram and they should not be this slow. Can anyone help?

Sure with some more info we can.
What type of footage are you working with?
What are your timeline settings?There are no “technical solutions” to your “artistic problems”.
Don’t let technology get in the way of your creativity! -
1. What format is your timeline (Settings) is the timeline format the same as the assets?
2. Where are the assets. Any on a server? If even one file is on a server somewhere it will sloooow things down.
3. What are the specs of you computer? Compressing to H.264 on anything but a 8 core Intel is going to be slooooooow. -
Only time I encounted this was with iFrame format ex1 stuff. Turned off “FULL” in the render pull down. Everything went back to relatively normal render times and no more conform boxes. Probably same with hdv editing.

This is normal if your sequence codec is MPEG-2
Set your sequence to Proress.

We have an 8 core 8gigs of ram and the highest processor. We are importing XDCam footage and setting the sequence settings to XDCam 422 some projects are EX3 and we get the same issue for both.
