    No. Keep your render files on your Capture Scratch. FCP assigns them there by default for a reason.

    I had this discussion with an associate who claimed that renders on a separate scratch disc save seek time and prolong drive life. I disagreed, saying that in any project you may have captured media files that are physically far apart on a drive. To FCP it’s all media that is non-contiguous and must be randomly accessed. I’ll direct him to this thread.
