I’m doing an ad for cinema release. Original material was HDV1080i50. So the ad’s been approved, and I’m onlining/grading ready for output to TGA sequential files for delivery. I’ve used a ProRes timeline, with all render settings turned to 11, so to speak.

The spot is basically 6 shots, mixed shot-to-shot using gradient wipes. The gradients were created in Photoshop and imported as TGA files. All is fine and dandy, apart from one shot – when you step through unrendered (orange bar) it’s fine, lovely smooth grad wipe, vignettes and CC in place. Render it, and about 2/3 of the way through the shot the wipe breaks up – half the screen goes to thick vertical lines comprising the incoming and outgoing images interleaved. I can see nothing wrong with the footage of either the incoming or outgoing shots…

    Puzzled I am…

    Any thoughts?

    Jason
