render error
Posted by Tim Brown on March 1, 2009 at 11:18 pmHello,
I am receiving a “General Error” message when I try to render. Any ideas?

March 2, 2009 at 1:18 amI have more to report. I can render video files (stuff I’ve captured, but manipulated) just fine. I’m having problems when I try to add overlays that I’ve imported from a dvd (from a well-known company that I’ve used before). I’ve also used these overlays on other projects before with no problems.
I’ve recently dumped everything off my computer and reverted to my old OS 10.3.9. I also re-loaded FCP 3. I took everything off my drives. Now I’m having this problem. The editing seems to work fine otherwise. Dissolves, etc. seem to render with no problems.

March 2, 2009 at 1:55 amI may have figured this out (if anyone cares!). I installed the version of Quicktime that came with the overlays. That seems to have fixed the problem. Not sure why, but if it works, I’m happy.
