  • Render comp to replace old file by default…

Is there a way to set up your “Output To:” settings so that it will replace (overwrite) the old movie by default?

My default setting is ‘comp name’, but if a .mov of the same name exists, it always adds a “_1” to the file name. Each time I make an update to my comp, I have to manually click on the file name, change it, then it asks me if I want to replace. I always say ‘yes’. Is there any way to make AE overwrite the original by default?

I do this so that Final Cut will replace the footage automatically instead of having to “Reconnect Footage…” Trying to save myself some steps, here. Any one else run into this? Is there a better workflow?

    Thanks en avance!
