Render box for AE renders
Hi,
Can somebody help me out with a Config required for rendering AE Projects.
I need to smoke out about 50 After Effects projects. Basically i would be rendering out WMV files and the source video files would also be WMV’s. Per project ranging between 1 minute to 2 minutes. Mainly color corrected and stylized.
Dual opteron is a definite yes, but what else to get it rock solid and fast. I mean WMV’s are highly compressed files and would require some more extra power, right.
Kinda confused, anybody willing to help.

stick one of these big boys on the end of that render.
Not too pricy and it’ll just sit there and crunch away at those files for you.We use the boxx workstations – top notch for 3d and AE

The link in my sig might offer an alternative? 🙂 We’ve been kept busy on some film projects but AE projects are never are problem (in terms of set up and portability) so I don’t have a problem squeezing it into the queue.
also worth mentioning, something we’ve been working on for about a year is almost ready for release, and was designed with AE primarily in mind (since it’s the app I personally use the most). it’s a renderfarm in box called “the Cluster” and this network appliance will be the best friend AE ever had.
note: I personally HATE spam, especially in forums like the cow, but I thought this stuff was pertinent to the discussion. thanks.
