Render B4 Export
Posted by Peter Tours on February 2, 2011 at 8:38 pmWhen exporting a sequence with unrendered fx, must you render first then export, or does export take care of it all?

No, you don’t need to render to export or send to compressor. FCP will redraw each frame of as it’s exporting or compressing. Only when exporting to tape do you need to render all.
I don’t worry about render everything before exporting, I only render for playback or to verify effects.
Good Luck,

February 2, 2011 at 9:23 pmExcept in a few circumstances it’s generally a good idea to render before exporting. Apple recommends you render all media to full. Unrendered effects that slow down the export process can cause issues such as corrupted frames. It’s also a good idea to mixdown the audio before exporting.
All the best,
Tom
