render as function in ms 9 platinum
Guys
I am still at a loss as to how to utilize the “render as” function in mov stu 9 plat to end up with a blu-ray compliant file that I can then burn using imgburn say.
I know the wizard will do this just fine but so should “render as”, seems to me.
Where am I going wrong?

Select MainConcept MPEG2 and any one of the templates that start with the word “Blu-ray…”. If you don’t see any, then upgrade to MovieStudio HD 10. (I’m not sure if 9 had Blu-ray templates or not)

Yes, 9 has also has this.
My problem is getting from it a file that I can burn with img burn to blu ray disc.
What file extension am I looking for from the render that will burn, .iso, vf, vob ???

OK now I understand your original question. You cannot create a Blu-ray disc image from the Render menu. You can only render a file that you can use in a Blu-ray Authoring program like DVD Architect to create a disc image. I don’t know if the version of DVD Architect Studio that comes with Movie Studio 9 will make a Blu-ray disc.
In Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10.0 you can use Tools | Burn Disc | Blu-ray Disc to make a Blu-ray disc image. If you don’t have this option in Movie Studio 9 then you just found a good reason to upgrade to version 10. 😉
