Render an h.264 HD .mov
Hi, I hope this is an easy one…
I would like to render out a 1920×1080 .mov in h.264. My Sony Vegas 9b only lists h.261 and h.263 as possible video formats. Am I missing something or can someone tell me a reliable source to download the h.264 codec?

You are not missing anything. Vegas does not support h.264 Quicktime renders. It comes with the Sony AVC/H.264 codec and the MainConcept AVC/H.264 codec but not one for Quicktime. There is nothing you can do to change this. Quicktime will play the h.264 .mp4 files that are rendered by Vegas. You can even rename them from .mp4 to .mov if you’d like. This works on a PC. I’m not sure if they work on a Mac but they should.
