Hello,
I’ve been using FCP for about three years. Today under Sequence/settings/video processing/
I saw the choice of
Render in 8-bit YUV was checked
under that was another choice
Render all YUV material in high-precision YUV. (higher quality results, longer render time)Is this worth checking? Have I been short changing myself?

For graphics intensive material you might notice a difference, otherwise you might as well use the standard setting.
Do some tests and see what you think. It’s really dependent on the material and your judgement. -
Aso be aware that you have similar options if you use Motion. If you produce graphics in Motion at 16 or 32 bits; and then bring it into FCP and render at 8 bits, you will not benefit.
