I’ve created a 4-sided cube in AE. This cube is a transition from one video the the next. The idea for the transition is that it spins several times, with motion blur applied, and ends up on one of the side images. The four images that make up the cube are actual .avi files, 720 * 480 pixels.

Problem: When RAM previewing the cube in AE 6.5 my cube spins fine and all the video images are there. But, after rendering video (Microsoft DV render, since video was a DV format), the back side of the cube is missing (blank) in the rendered file.

My composition is a 3D Advanced layer, and all the precomps associated with the render comp are also 3D. Any suggestions on the root of the problem and how to solve it?

    Thank you

my first thought is lights/material options, but you don’t meantion if you have lights in the scene. if so, make sure the material options are set right for the layer. if you were ram previewing in draft 3D mode it would show up but the render would use the lights and materials.

otherwise, other things to try for troubleshooting:
-make sure all the other settings (besides position of course) are exactly the same for each of the video layers.
-try to do different types of renders out to see if the problem is across all renders (lossless, photoshop sequence, etc).
-switch up the videos. place the back video as the front side and see what happens.
