I’ve searched the help and this forum and can’t
    find an answer.

how do you rename generated media in vegas 4?

    example:

I open the generated media, grab the black and drop it into
    my bin.

It’s labeled “Sony solid color 1”

Thats not very good. I want it to be called BLACK 8 (if its 8 seconds duration)

In premiere you can rename generated media. surely you can with vegas right?

    thanks in advance.

In the Media Pool, you can rename the generated media.

If you right-click and choose Properties, you can rename the Take.

do you mean the tape name?

I just found that out awhile ago.

then you also have to move it way over to
the left next to the name so you can see it
if you media bins are not full width.

This is kind of an oddity compared to most other NLE’s
but I can live with it. 🙂
