renaming favorite selections
First experience editing in FCPX….
I’ve been going through a bunch of interviews and selecting the best soundbites in the browser by marking in/out on that clip and hitting the “f” key to mark a favorite. I then create smart searches which returns a list of those selected bites, as desired. BUT, if I want to rename the clip (so that I can see at a glance which clip is which soundbite) in this smart search, it renames ALL of the clips that occur within the smart search (in other words, it’s renaming the actual clip, not the smart search’s result) I can discretely mark the different results by editing the notes field of each of the favorites that appears in my list, which nearly satisfies my requirements, but you have to click the disclosure triangle on all of the clips to see what’s what, and each time I select the smart search in my browser, the result comes back to me with all of the disclosure triangles closed, and I have to manually, one by one, open up each of the disclosure triangles again to see what the different bites are. You cannot select all and open all the disclosure triangles simultaneously.
Does this make sense, and does anyone know a workaround?
Many thanks in advance for any help.
Jon
