Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy rename GH2 clips

I searched through the forum and didn’t see an answer to this. I am editing with footage from a Panasonic GH2, bringing it into FCP via log and transfer. The clips have designated numbers. Is there a proper way to rename the clips and will by doing so mess things up later along down the line (if I need to relink, exporting my final for sound mix, etc)?

    Thanks!

Rename in FCP, then go to the MODIFY menu and choose RENAME>File to match CLIP.

Thank you, Shane. So is the purpose of going to Modify to change the clip name in the capture scratch folder?

The purpose is so that the clips in the CAPTURE SCRATCH match those of the clips. You don’t need to do this though…FCP will keep track if you only change the name in FCP.
