I am remaking an old analogue film and as this was my first ever video take I left the time display on, which now shows in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Any suggestions how to mask this as it is very intrusive when viewing.

You could place a little PiP blur over it.
But a more elegant action would be to place identicle scenes on adjacent timelines. Then use cookie cutter to cut out the time on the top scene. This would allow the time to show through from the bottom scene, so at this point there would be no difference. Now use track motion on the bottom scene to move the time display out of the picture, blur the borders a little. It would look a little wierd but possibly better than the time display.

Looks very interesting although a bit adventurous for me. Instead I have used the pan control to enlarge the clips just enough to cut off the time display, and then sharpened them a little. Being an analogue video copied in from a VCD means that the quality was not brilliant anyway so I don’t think I have lost too much definition by enlarging them by about 10 or 15%. This seemed the simplest way after I had thought about it. Any comments?

You probably won’t notice any quality loss but you will lose 10-15% of your video frame!
