removing inter-frame brightness fluctuations
Would love some help on this.
When shooting stopframe or timelapse sequences using a digital camera , you are more than likely going to get some brightness fluctuations. This is as far as I can see caused by the fact that the iris stops down to the manually selected exposure EACH TIME THE SHUTTER IS RELEASED. (Disc. I am shooting on a Canon 1D mkII)
What I am trying to discover is a plug-in for after effects that will smooth this out. There is ‘Film Fix’ a $2000 piece of software that looks like it will do this as well as all sorts of other film restoration.
I only need the stabilizer.
After effects’ color stabilizer doesn’t do a good enough job (it needs to anaylise the frames either side, not just one selected point.)The other time that this type of software would be useful is when shooting timelapse of a sunrise or sunset. If you ride the exposure you end up with ‘stopping’ flashes all the way through your sequence.
…see example movie at https://www.brandspank.com/timelapse/As far as I can see the software would need to evaluate the brightness settings of say 8 frames either side of the target frames and adjust from there.
Any ideas?
