Removing Flicker in video
Hello,
I am making a title video for a series of lectures. I am using a JPEG as the background for the video. The problem I am having is that the text on this JPEG (the logo of the organization I work for) shakes for the first half of the video (about 4 seconds). On top of the JPEG are two text items that appear using additive dissolve. The JPEG than dips to black so that only the text items remain. Depending on which video it is, the text items will shake too. I have tried using the Anti-Flicker filter, changed the flicker setting in the Field Options and even tried sharpening the image. If anyone can offer any suggestions, it would be much appreciated! -

Hi Jordan,
I would guess that the .jpeg has some fine details in it that don’t translate to video very well. With still photos that have exhibited this issue, I add a *slight* amount of Gaussian Blur in Photoshop. Not so much that the image looks noticeably soft, but just a touch will take care of the flickers usually. Be sure to “Save As” so you do not overwrite the original graphic in case you need to revert back.

Can you create the text as a text layer on NOT on a jpg?
Can you use a PNG instead of a jpeg as your back?
Also, thin does not do well with grfx sometimes, as mentioned.Chris Tompkins
