Removing FCP and upgrading properly
i’m ordering the new version of final cut studio today, but have a ton of projects that i can’t lose. when my new package comes do i remove the old FCP first? or install the new FCP, make sure my old projects open properly then remove the older version?
is there a proper way to remove FCP studio from your mac or is it just a matter of deleting folders in the application section?
i’m currently running FCP studio 5.1.4 on an imac with 3GB intel core 2 duo, 4GB of RAM, Leopard OS and QT 7.6

The best thing to do when going to a newer version of FCP is to not run it as an upgrade. I recommend cloning your system drive to another as a backup, and then completely erase your system drive, install a clean OS and then do a clean install of FCP.
If you don’t want to do that then Get FCP Remover and use that to uninstall the old version of FCP.
There are no “technical solutions” to your “artistic problems”.
