Hello, I’m trying to make an AMV in Vegas, I’ve already made a few that seem to be reasonably popular.
However, I’ve encountered a problem in that one of the videos I’m attempting to import comes with a black bar border.
One of the things I’ve done to try to fix the problem is changing the frame size in Event Pan/Crop. I’ve centered the frame, and then attempted to get the width right, as the bars are only on the side. In the Event Pan/Crop frame, it looks like the frame is perfectly right. So, after that, I go and change the dimensions of the project to match those of the frame. However, after this happens, there are no black bar borders above and below the video. So, after that, I decrease the project’s height, and that seems to work, as there are no borders in the preview screen.
Unfortunately, when I try to render the video, I get the following error message:
An error occurred while creating the media file Untitled.wmv.
The video frame size is not supported.
I really have no idea what to do at this point. Maintain aspect ratio is off, and the dimensions of the video, minus the border, seem to be correct, judging by the preview window. However, not being able to create a .avi or .wmv file, totally defeats the purpose of having a video editor, for me.
Just for kicks, I exported in .mp4. Stretching the video to fit in the Event Pan/Crop window gives me vertical black bars, and not stretching to fit squashes everything horizontally. I’m lost, and would greatly appreciate any help.

Set Project property to match output.

I’m still getting the same error that I was before, the video frame size is not supported.

Change your project to a frame size that is supported and your problems should go away.
