    Try applying it to smaller segments. There’s a large variation of the background across the entire image. Content Aware Fill may be averaging the fill in some way.

    It’s still the same fuzz. What confuses me is I’ve seen this work on youtube tutorials where people are removed so the intricate breaking of an ocean tide can be shown. So why can’t this program do this carpet. Then again, I could be missing something.

    What are your content aware fill settings? I’d think you’d want surface mode instead of object. Also, have you tried creating a reference frame in Photoshop?
