  • Removing black bars on TOP and BOTTOM

Posted by Danny Paz on February 6, 2016 at 2:01 am

Hey, so I’m working on a project where I rotate a clip and use motion tile on it as well. Though I have this issue that the black bars on top and bottom of the clip make it so I can’t see only the clip inside of the black bars. I also tried masking over it, but as I rotated to see the motion tile, I saw a huge gap until I saw the motion tile itself. Basically I also can’t see the motion tile because of the bars as well. I try cropping it, but the bars are still there. I just don’t know a way to actually remove or delete something of a clip. Please help

You probably need to scale the clip up during the rotation so the edges aren’t visible when you rotate it.

It is hard to understand what you are describing. Can you render it out and provide a link so we can see what you are talking about?

    Hi Danny,
Did you ever get this resolved. You were experiencing the exact problem that I am having. I am getting the huge black gaps between the tiles with the video clips. When I try the same effect with images, I don’t have the problem.

    Thanks

    1. scale the video a tiny bit until it’s covering all the frame completely
    2. precomp the footage -> move all attributes
    3. now use the motion tile effect

    you could also
    1. precomp the footage – leave all attributes
    2. activate the collapse switch
    3. now you can scale the layer a bit and the gap will go away
