  • Removing Automation Gain in preparing for a mix

Posted by Ross Spears on January 23, 2007 at 10:01 pm

I am trying to prepare for a mix of a feature length doc, and I need to remove all the rubberbanding and other changes to track levels. When I start up the automation gain tool, however, I cannot get the commands under the little hamburger menu to activate. I must be neglecting something simple, but I cannot figure out what’s the problem? Any help will be much appreciated.

Have you selected the audio tracks you want? Select the A1, A2, A3, etc…button in your mixer/automation gain tool, then try the hamburger menu again.

    Mike.

Mike, I thought I had tried everything, but I eventually noticed the tiny oval shaped buttons, shaped sort of like the standardized test ovals we used to have to fill in with #2 pencil on the SAT tests. I clicked one and it turned green! Shazam, the hamburger menu came to life. Thanks for the suggestion, which motivated me to look more closely. Thanks ever so much. Ross

    Don’t feel bad.

I was freaking out on the Symphony Nitris trying to do this, when I realized there is no Automation Gain Tool on that system.

On the Symphony Nitris, you just set an in and out in the timeline, select any keyframe, and then the delete key.
