Is there a way to isolate a buzz sound and remove it from the larger audio file that contains it?

Any help with removing this buzz is greatly apprecitated.

You might take a look at Sony Noise Reduction.

I have the noise reduction and have played with it for hours with little results. It is generally a great tool.

I remember seeing Final Cut Pro Studio at a presentation: the presenter was able to isolate a certain sound in a 2 seconds clip and then have the program remove that sound from the rest of the audio file… it was incredible… but I can’t figure out if Vegas can do that.

NR should take care of it .. if the buzz volume changes then that makes it difficult with NR … is it a low , mid , or hi frequency buzz ??? without hearing it don’t know where to tell you to start .. if you can provide a sample to download might be able to provide more info ??? if you do put up a sample make sure there is at least 1-2 sec of the buzz without voice (or main audio subject) in sample ..

Depending on how bad a buzz it is you might try this (just to see if it works-I’ve done it a few times for a soft background hum)
Highlight the clip-right click, goto ‘Apply NON real time Event FX’-this will bring up audio effects. Goto ‘TRACK EQ’ and grab #1 while the audio is playing-pull the EQ down and to the RIGHT until the voice or music changes. Back off a smidge (how much is a smidge?) and press OK. You now have a 2nd take of the audio. See how it sounds thru out-if its OK you’re set-if not you can go back in and either play with it some more OR go back to the original TAKE and you haven’t lost anything.
Can’t promise it’ll work but it might just-it has for me.

I can’t post anything online but I can email you a sample. My email is andrea@zpod.ca. If you can email me your email… I will send you a clip.

    Much appreciation,
    Paul
