Ouch that is a very big thing to patch. Even to patch a still in Photoshop would take quite a bit of work and repainting. Unless you have a hollywood budget for some work with Mocha Pro or frame by frame cloning, I’m thinking you just need to crop the shot so that the Mic doesn’t show.

Yep,

Either bite the bullet and rotoscope it out – or you’re gonna have to do something quick and dirty – like blow the frame up or re-frame it enough to push the problem off screen right and fill the rest of the frame with something else while those shots are up.

There are dozens of generally audience transparent cliche’s available from “content emphasizing” bullet points to B-roll that you can composite into frame left to justify pushing the reporter right far enough to lose the mic unit.

I just saw this little tutorial on Mocha Pro and made me think about your shot.

This is showing how much work it is to track something as intricate as different planes on a subject. This is an example tracking a beard. Now granted this is incredible fast compared to doing it by hand (and probably more accurate, at least more accurate than my painting), it is still very involved.

I totally agree with Bill that you should do your best to move it out of frame.
