    Greetings,

So today I am working on a project for a corporate video. Unfortunately the most important piece of footage is an “edited video” that has music mixed into the background.

I know this won’t be perfect, but I am wondering if anyone has any advice for doing what I can to “lessen” the background music. Getting the original files for the video is out of the question, unfortunately, this is what I have to work with.

    Thanks!

In Adobe Audition there is a filter in Effects/Stereo Imagery/ Center Channel Extractor. If the music you have in the mix is stereo and the voice is centered this should help in reducing the music.

    Good luck.

Do you have Adobe Soundbooth? If you do, just google Remove background music in adobe soundbooth and there are 3 Videos right at the top that will help you obtain this lower music but without losing quality. Its kinda a pain. YOu can also do it in Premier, but Soundbooth has a lot more plugins for this.

    Good luck
